We are currently assisting the recruitment and talent acquisition efforts for an innovative and leading aerospace supplier who is seeking an experienced Quality Manager who will bring a level of leadership and people skills to the team as well as the demanding technical skills of a top performer in the aerospace quality assurance function. 

Purpose:

The Quality Manager, as part of the Management Team provides detailed oversight of quality system, guidance on quality matters, supervises training of employees, and instructs and manages other team members in support of the quality system. The Quality Manager reports on quality trends, corrective actions and improvement activities related to the suite of commercial aerospace products. 

Responsibilities include:                                                                                                       

·               Maintains and improves the quality management systems in accordance with Company Policy, Regulatory, and Customer requirements. 

·               Develops, writes and/or approves quality-related documentation such as the quality manual, quality procedures, work instructions and records. 

·               Manages quality system audits including internal, external audits and management system reviews. 

·               Manages process, product and system conformity throughout the facility.  

·               Ensures that products and processes are in compliance with specified requirements and regulations. 

·               Participates in supplier management activities and maintains Approved Supplier List.

·               Reports on vendor performance and rating.  Interfaces with vendors on quality issues, develops improvement plans and implements changes. 

·               Conducts periodic surveys of supplier quality systems and manufacturing processes.

·               Administers Material Review Board and Corrective Action processes. 

·               Responsible for ensuring correctiveactions are implemented.  Manages non-conforming product inventories and ensures timely disposition of non-conforming product.

·               Participates in failure analysis activity for customer returns.

·               Monitors and reports on customer-generated supplier report cards. 

·               Interfaces with internal and external customers on quality issues. 

·               Analyzes quality information to identify improvement opportunities and manages the improvement process. 

·               Performs contractual review to determine how to integrate customer specific requirements into existing quality program.   

·               Assesses employee performance and conducts reviews.

·               Prepares and manages department budget. Identifies and investigates cost performance issues.

·               Identifies cost savings opportunities without compromising quality or schedule requirements.  Analyzes cost data to assure performance targets are achieved.

·               Manages the Quality team, including engineers and inspection associates.

Requirements:

Minimum educational and work experience requirements for the successful candidate will include the following

- Associates degree in a technical field

- Five years experience as a Quality Professional

- Aerospace experience preferred but not required

- Project management skills

- Problem solving skills
