- Provide strategic overview ensuring both short and long-term goals are developed and maintained, continuous improvement efforts accomplished, and employees are properly trained.
- Responsible for developing and implementing company wide policies and procedures for IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards
- Interact with external auditors ensuring proper compliance is maintained and certifications continuously updated
- Acts an internal IATF 16949 lead auditor and management representative
- Prioritizes, delegates, and manages multiple departmental projects
- Manages PPAP process

- Supports manufacturing as required on problem resolution involving customers corrective action and root cause identification
- Supports engineering and manufacturing in their efforts to improve tooling and processing capabilities
- Directs and manages staff by developing and coaching for improvement, evaluating performance, and conducting reviews
- Evaluates and approves all cost of quality reports
- Ensures department professionally and effectively communicates with internal and external customers and suppliers
- Proactively works with customers identifying problems suggesting areas for improvements
- Trains quality staff, manufacturing leaders, and operators on new and/or updated quality policies, procedures, and standards
- Communicates with sales, engineering, shipping, and manufacturing to ensure internal procedures are properly followed while driving a continuous focus on quality improvements
- Approves and collects information for processing return authorizations
- Verifies disposition of product after rework ensuring accurate reject quantities and detailed information for cost of quality report
- Gathers all pertinent information for Corrective Action Requests and develops final report to customer
- Researches, evaluates, and negotiates sorting services in US and Mexico
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field required.
- 5+ years experience as a Quality Manager or 8-10 years of progressive quality experience in a related industry.
- Possesses an advanced knowledge of rubber injection molding processes, materials, molds, and equipment.
- Understands various quality standards, measurement systems, and equipment.
- Understands IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards and procedures, possesses an ability to read blueprints and interpret customer specifications. Understands Geometrical, Dimensioning, and Tolerancing.
- Must be able to make decisions where there is a significant amount of responsibility and accountability for final results.
- Must have experience managing and directing Quality staff, must be able to motivate, lead, evaluate and develop employees. Must be able to prioritize and oversee multiple projects at all times.
- Possesses an understanding of all MS Office Applications including Word and Excel, and internet/emailing.
Physical Requirements:
- Sedentary physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature.
- Performance of the job may require sitting, handling items and working with fingers to type, complete paperwork, and handle other administrative functions. Occasionally may be asked to walk, stand, talk and hear others in conversion by phone or in person.
Work Environment:
- Well-lit, heated, and/or air-conditioned modern office setting with adequate ventilation.
- Occasionally may enter manufacturing area where temperatures may be extreme during the summer months.
