Job Description
Lead the Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions by serving as the primary point of contact for Quality activities in the manufacturing of composite Airborne and Ground based Radomes.
- Manages the day-to-day activities of the quality team and provides cross-functional leadership. Executes Corporate Quality directives and initiatives. Ensures all activities are completed on-time and within budget.
- Develops and maintains Quality plans, policies, processes, and procedures to ensure that business goals and objectives are met.
- Ensures the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS) through risk mitigation and active problem solving.
- Identifies and documents best practices. Prepares and presents quality metrics at management reviews. Reviews and approves purchase orders and Engineering change requests, as needed.
- Drives reduction in Corrective Action Reports (CARs), Customer Complaints, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs). Manages calibration and inspection activities.
- Provides Quality Engineering and First Article Inspection (FAI) support. Performs internal audits (QMS, NADCAP, etc.), identifies gaps, and drives it to closure in a timely manner.
- Hosts customer, accreditation, and regulatory audits/compliance (AS9100D, ISO 9001, FAA, MIDO, REACH, RoHS, etc.)
- Strives to continually improve Yield and reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ). Supports MRB and provides Quality deliverables at gate reviews.
- Collects and analyzes data to identify trends and opportunities. Formulates and executes strategies to improve performance.
- Communicates, trains, mentors, and coaches cross-functional team members on Quality policies, processes, and procedures, as appropriate. Guides cross-functional teams in root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Partners with suppliers, tracks performance scorecards, makes site visits, conducts audits, and leads Kaizen activities to address supplier quality issues.
- Matures the quality function by building capabilities, nurturing commitment, and driving performance. Identifies training needs and growth opportunities to empower team members. Maintains relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with at least 10 years of relevant experience or advanced degree with 8 years of relevant experience.
- At least 5 years’ experience in leading and mentoring high performance teams.
- Experience in composites or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of AS9100D and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory (FAA, MIDO, etc.) requirements.
- Working knowledge of REACH and ROHS compliance requirements.
- Proficient in statistical analysis techniques and quality tools and methods.
- Selected candidate will be required to work onsite for majority of the time.
- Salary range is: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 depending on experience.
- Must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore, a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
