We are seeking a Quality Managerfor our screen printing and embroidery manufacturing plant located in Comstock Park, MI. This position will work 100% on-site.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Quality Manager will be responsible for overseeing the quality control processes in our screen printing and embroidery facility. In addition to managing and improving the quality of our customized apparel production, this role involves leading a team of quality control professionals, implementing best practices, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of quality control professionals, providing guidance and support.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate quality goals, share updates, and address concerns.
- Quality Assurance Policies:
- Develop and implement comprehensive quality assurance policies and procedures specific to screen printing and embroidery processes.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
- Process Optimization:
- Identify opportunities for process optimization in screen printing and embroidery, aiming for improved efficiency and quality.
- Collaborate with production teams to implement changes and enhancements.
- Product Inspection:
- Oversee and participate in regular inspections of printed and embroidered products to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Implement and maintain thorough inspection checklists and documentation.
- Color Matching and Consistency:
- Lead efforts in color matching processes to maintain consistency across batches.
- Work closely with production and design teams to address and resolve color-related issues.
- Defect Analysis and Resolution:
- Investigate and analyze product defects, working with relevant teams to implement corrective actions.
- Develop and implement preventative measures to minimize defects in the production process.
- Training and Development:
- Provide training to production staff on quality control procedures, emphasizing the importance of precision in screen printing and embroidery.
- Foster a culture of attention to detail and quality awareness.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field OR equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality management role.
- Experience working within screen printing and embroidery manufacturing environment preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Familiarity with color management and quality control tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct supervision of support staff. Responsible for ensuring day-to-day tasks are completed and regular development of skill set occurs.

- Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and handle paperwork.
- Visual acuity to review detailed documents and conduct inspections.

- Ability to navigate the manufacturing facility, including stairs and other physical obstacles, to conduct quality assessments.
