Quality Lab Technician

SUMMARY OBJECTIVE

The Quality Lab Technician interprets lab results and issues reports based on the results. The position makes recommendations for adjusting process conditions to ensure that quality standards are met.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for testing physical and chemical properties of incoming and outgoing graphite products.
• Documents test results for every inspection both on paper and digitally.
• Keeps up with lab inventory on a weekly basis and notifies Lab Manager on when we are low.
• Ensures all finished production material is tested and meets standards in a timely manner.
• Maintains quality control for all material tested.
• Make recommendations for adjusting process conditions to ensure that quality standards are met.
• Works with production in product development and moving non-conforming material that is segregated.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area.
• Adheres to all safety protocols.
• Responsible for organizing and maintaining the Lab Retain Sample Room.
• Supports the organization on specific projects to promote the overall technical growth of the company.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a science field
• Minimum 1-year lab experience; College lab courses count towards lab experience
• Technical experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required
• Previous experience with a quality system preferred
• Proficient in Excel and basic computer usage
