The Quality Control Inspector will play a crucial role in supporting laboratory operations, conducting testing on high voltage lithium ion batteries and components. This role requires strong communication, organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to various environments. Individual must be a self-starter, able to work in a fast paced highly technical work environment and adapt to change.
Testing and measurement equipment can range from basic measuring tools (Vernier calipers, multi-meters) to highly complex test and inspection equipment (gas chromatography, CT scan, X-Ray, battery cyclers, environmental test chambers, vibration shaker, module crush tester, oscilloscope, coordinated measuring machine (CMM)).
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the set-up, execution, and support of testing (audit/inspection) activities
- Maintain confidentiality of company information (including but not limited to drawings, schematics, process information, test results, and recipes)
- Accurately record and document test (audit/inspection) data, including observations, measurements, and results
- Perform accurate basic analysis of the data collected
- Prepare and maintain (PM and cleanliness) laboratory equipment, and instruments
- Must be able to work as a team in a diverse cultural workplace
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- High level of attention to detail and adhere to standard procedures
- Prepare, store, and dispose of samples according to laboratory requirements
- Monitor and manage (calibration) lab supplies, consumables, and materials, including spare parts, ensuring adequate stock for ongoing testing
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance processes to maintain high standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Assist in training of new team members
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- May be exposed to cleanroom environment, dust, solvents, mixing, noise, high temperatures, low humidity, air-conditioned environment, CT Scan, X-Ray, and high-security
- Propose recommendation for continuous improvements such as methods, standardizations, & evaluations
- Be able to and willing to assist with investigations and studies
- Ability to follow and adhere to all health and safety rules, including the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) during work hours
- Prepare and escalate non-conformance reports and findings
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to perform the physical demands of a Quality Inspector position
- Must be able to lift up to ~51 lbs (~23 kg), and be able to sit or stand for periods of time
- Able to use MS Office suite including Word and Excel
- Basic understanding of hand tools & gages
- GED or higher education level
- Successfully pass a background, drug check, & basic skills test.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates Degree, Technical training, or Military experience in technical field
- Electronics, maintenance, science, chemical, or medical field and/or 2+ years in a quality technician role in lithium ion battery testing
- Electro-Mechanically inclined
- Practical use of micrometers, calipers, and other hand measurement tools
- Ability to read drawings, diagrams, and other technical documents
- Calibration, CMM, test/laboratory experience
- Experience/knowledge of inspection and auditing
- Bilingual in English and Korean
Shift: 12-hr rotating shift. Must be able to work any shift, any day of the week.
