Quality Inspector

This position is for 2nd Shift Mon - Thur 4:30pm - 3:00am, if selected training would be on 1st shift 6am - 4:30 pm for approx. 6 months.

Inspector

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for tasks that include, but are not limited to, performing routine checks, tests, gauging, and instrument inspections of materials, goods in process, and finished goods.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Performs assigned routine tests on materials, goods in process, or finished goods where results are compared with company quality standards. Reports results machine operators and supervisors who will make an analysis and take necessary action.
• Inspects visually for obvious defects.
• Performs detailed visual inspection when necessary to determine quality of product where limits are not clearly defined. Removes defectives and places acceptable product back on line.
• Notifies line mechanics or supervisor when inspection data exceeds acceptable limits or when major incidents of poor quality are noted.
• Records results on inspection forms or charts and reports number of defects found. Posts and maintains forms and charts of inspection data, quality levels, or special quality studies.
• Makes recommendation on disposition of questionable product to supervisor.
• ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• May act as quality control department clerk, maintaining all quality records for the facility. JOB QUALIFICATIONS:Ability to work rotating shifts, on continuous seven-day work cycle.
• Dexterity and preciseness required to operate gauges and testing equipment.
• High school or technical school education, or equivalent, with mathematics emphasis.
• Considerable mental and visual effort.
• Good communication skills
• Work well with other employees
• Detail oriented
• Able to measure and document results of inspection testing

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.16 - $29.58 per hour
