Job Title: Quality Inspector
Pay Rate: $20 to $23/HR
Duration: 6 months
Location: Houston, TX
Shift 1: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
We are looking for a Quality Inspector
As a Quality Inspector, you will work closely with Production, Engineering, and other Quality Team members to perform dimensional inspections on a variety of manufactured and purchased parts associated with the Gimpel Valve product line. Your primary daily activities will be focused on ensuring components and documentation comply with drawings, specifications, procedures, or other written/verbal instructions. You will report directly to the Quality Manager and will be instrumental in ensuring the quality of products used during internal valve assembly activities or spare part orders shipped directly to external Customers.
Description :
- Utilize various inspection techniques to keep rejected components from reaching the end Customer
- Accountable for quality checks of components and making decision on the acceptance or rejection of a component
- Verify dimensional tolerances to prints using calibrated gages and instruments
- Conduct visual inspection of manufactured and welded components
- Perform transactions in the SAP MRP system necessary to continue the processing of components through the Quality area
- Verify material certifications and properties against National or Siemens Energy standards and establish material traceability ensuring it is maintained from Receiving until Shipment
- Upload and maintain data/records into appropriate computer database systems or manual file system
- Identify non-conformances and complete NCs in the SAP system
- Communicate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Sales where required to meet shipping needs, resolve issues and implement improvements
- Support and backup other members in the Quality Team responsible for Gage Calibration, Inspection &Test Plans (ITPs), creation of Document Packages and Inspection Reports
- Perform final review of valve assemblies in preparation to release for shipment
- Review all required documentation to verify that all work has been performed and all quality and customer requirements have been achieved prior to shipment
Education and/ or Experience Requirements :
- High School diploma or equivalent plus 2 to 4 years of experience working with products that have complex geometries
- Candidates must have a diverse background and previous experience covering areas such as turbo machinery, component repair, welding, manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Inspection & NDE
- Past experience in Non-Destructive Examination (MPI & LPI) is very desirable
- High degree of proficiency using multiple types of measuring equipment & gages
- Proficient in reading drawings as well as GD & T nomenclature
- Computer proficiency
- SAP experience is highly desirable
- Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Safety shoes & safety glasses required

Salary: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
