Position Summary:
Responsible for utilizing precision measuring hand tools, micro-heights, and comparators used at SIG performing mechanical inspection operations. Responsible for running CMM inspection equipment and interpreting & appropriately actioning on reports generated. Performs a variety of inspections in the production process using the aforementioned tools. Includes production support; data collection; and workplace organization and safety.
- Efficient/effective performance of routine mechanical inspection to inspection records and mechanical drawings using pre-trained/determined methods for product acceptability.
- Review inspection data to assure integrity and investigate/resolve discrepancies found during the part inspection.
- Using the company operating system to reach necessary inspection sheets, complete inspection forms/documents, perform movement of material, and any other functions required to perform job duties.
- Communicate effectively to supervision regarding problems and corrective action.
- Write detailed, clear, and concise reports on inspection findings.
- Seek and act upon ways to improve daily work processes to enhance quality and productivity.
- Run basic CMM programs and utilize precision automated inspection equipment.
- Participate in 5S Workplace organizational activities and maintain the area in good working order through sustainment activities.
- Other duties as required.
- Familiar with the use of general measurement tools (i.e micrometers, calipers, etc.).
- Basic MS Word and Excel skills.
- Basic blueprint reading skills.
- Understanding of machining processes.
- Some knowledge of components, assemblies, and product form, fit and function.
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required for specified activities
