Quality Inspector (Weld):
Position Overview:
Ensure that product is acceptable and meets the customers’ specifications and requirements. Ensure the production job folders are present at the point of operation with all the appropriate completed paperwork, and all products are properly identified and traceable.
Job Responsibilities:
- Complete First Articles/First Piece Approval for finished products, as required, ensuring that the first piece is acceptable, identified/signed and at the press during production run.
- Ensure all appropriate paperwork and labels are present at each operation and completed by the appropriate personnel.
- Take any required pictures of new product or processes.
- Complete and document in process inspections hourly for each job/process, initial labels once inspection has been completed and product approved.
- Complete 100% inspections, as required.
- Place product on hold, if requirements or specifications are not met.
- Re-inspect any sorting, rework, and repair, as required.
- Update data in various electronic logs.
- When needed, verify the quality portion of tooling maintenance form on production tools.
Skills:
- Independent; self-motivated, team-orientated, can follow instructions, good attendance, leadership ability, decision maker, meet deadlines.
- Understanding of tools required to produce product.
- Work accurately, with attention to detail, and be able to detect defects.
- PC Skills; Word, Excel, Email, Internet, networking awareness
- Inspection Skills; blue print reading, 1st articles, use of measurement tools, and SPC.
Abilities:
- Speak, read, and write in the English language.
- Stand, Walk, and reach with arms, hands, and fingers.
- Lift, carry, push, pull items up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.
- Basic Math; count, add, and subtract.
- Operate Office Machines & Equipment.
