Job Description
WFQ Inc. currently has a position available for a Quality Clerk Inspector for one of our customers in Pontiac. This position is on 1st shift, 6am to 2:30pm with some overtime available.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for monitoring the incoming condition of supplier materials. The Technician’s accountabilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to work safely around material handling equipment and abide by all safety rules and PPE requirements
- Monitor and Evaluate the condition of incoming supplier shipments
- Track supplier issues and maintain metrics to display performance
- Manage and maintain supplier communication regarding non-conforming shipments
- Via e-mail and Via telephone
- Respond to supplier non-conformances when alerted by the Receiving Department
- Report supplier non-conformances to the customer, Plant Manager and other designated employees via e-mail, including:
- Verbal description of the non-conformance
- Written description of the non-conformance by following RGL non-conformance process
- Photographs of the non-conformances
- Manage Quality Hold Areas
- Manage load report process
- Tag non-conformances and ensure routing to the next required process step for repair
- Light repair of non-conformances (usually taping of boxes, helping restack boxes, etc.)
- Assist in cleanup of spilled and/or broken containers (picking up fasteners, etc.)
- Maintain a log of identified non-conformances
- Performs other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Safe work history around material handling equipment
·Ability to perform accurate visual inspections
· Good written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to take photographs and send via e-mail
· Ability to enter data into Microsoft Excel
· Experience performing Receiving Inspection
· Experience as a quality inspector/technician
· Demonstrated ability to write basic formulae and format data in Microsoft Excel
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· One to three years of sustained prior employment
· Work experience in a material handling and/or manufacturing environment is preferred
· Quality experience is required
