The Warewash Business Unit, Troy Plant 27 in Troy, Ohio produces Hobart brand energy efficient commercial dishwashers that are used in hotels, casinos, restaurants, cruise ships, schools, universities and retail establishments. As the industry leader, Warewash is seeking to expand growth in existing served markets as well as new markets.
Job DescriptionThis first shift Quality Inspectorposition starting wage is $18.26 an hour and is responsible for maintaining quality and reliability of parts and machines by performing the following duties. Eliminating/preventing non-conforming parts, both fabricated in-house and purchased from being used on Plant 27 products to ensure quality standards are met.
Primary Responsibilities: (includes but not limited to the following duties)
Lead in supporting of the Quality Management System (QMS) including performing assigned audits to ensure conformity to processes and procedures.
Inspect a determined quantity of all purchased and fabricated parts, and assemblies to ensure they meet print specifications.
Reference and maintain the Quality Product Special Metrics (QPSM) and the defects log.
Maintain all calibrated tools, their status and shipment/return from the supplier.
Perform first article inspections on new parts, new revisions or whenever deemed necessary.
Audit a determined quantity of all assembled machines and determine if they meet specifications.
Troubleshoot defects found in both fabrication and assembly and assist in the determination of a resolution.
Performs quality inspections and audits, document and record results.
Responsible for communicating with the Quality Supervisor, Production Supervisors, Engineers and operators on quality concerns or issues.
- Adhere to business, safety and housekeeping protocols and reporting any concerns to Quality Supervisor.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One or more years of job-related experience
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Basic mathematical skills to be able to perform operations involving decimals and fractions (Written test required)
- Basic knowledge and ability to operate computers and perform tasks in MS Office
- Must be able to work in a team environment, demonstrate a positive attitude consistently and must possess good interpersonal communication skills
- Must possess good visual skills for part inspection, and reasoning ability
- Ability to read and write; and follow verbal and written instructions
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust and focus
- Ability to reach with arms extended and/or overhead, excellent hand dexterity, ability to bend, stoop, stretch and similar activities
- Able to lift up to 35 pounds
- Willingness and ability to work scheduled overtime
- Working in hot/cold manufacturing environment
