Position Summary

As a Quality & Food Safety Technician, you will perform process checks throughout our Central Production Unit including the production, packaging, sanitation, and warehousing functions of the company, including pre-operational checks, sanitation verification, label checks and net weight checks.

What you will do…

• Cover for HACCP Coordinator and/or Director Quality Assurance in case of absence

• Oversee and Implement Food Safety and Quality Programs
• Audit during production for Food Safety and quality
• Training and coach personnel on Food Safety and Quality
• Ensure all applicable Federal, State and Local Regulations are followed
• Assist during startups and product development
• Review Documents for HACCP and Production for completeness
• Conduct daily walks to ensure compliance

Who you are…

• Degree preferred or work experience in quality or Food Safety auditing
• Seafood HACCP Certified and/or ability to gain certification within 60 days after hiring
• Experience with USDA FSIS food production
• Food Manufacturing Quality and Food Safety
• Writing and implementing Food Safety and quality programs
• Excellent communication, presentation, and team building skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task to simultaneously complete several projects
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Additional Information

• Flexible to work on other duties outside of your main responsibilities when needed and as assigned
• Must be able to work in a chilled environment that is maintained below 40° when required
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation standards
• Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, wipe, reach, bend and lift.
• Subject to lifting up to 50lbs
• Exposure to some potential food allergens such as shrimp, soy, nuts/nut products, and sesame.
