Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Quality Engineering Intern to support our quality assurance team in maintaining and enhancing our rigorous standards for aerospace manufacturing. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced aerospace environment while contributing to the delivery of high-quality products to our customers. In this position, you can make immediate contributions in enhancing the current quality program by providing daily support in Quality related issues.
This internship position is full-time and based at our Downers Grove Aerospace Facility and is walking distance to the Metra Train Station.
Key Internship Experiences:
Mentorship: Work directly with a mentor in your field of study while finding solutions to real world quality related problems. Quality Assurance: Assist and learn about conducting inspections and product audits of aerospace components and processes to ensure compliance with AS9100 and other regulatory requirements. Root Cause Analysis: Participate in root cause analysis investigations to identify and resolve quality issues, implementing both corrective and preventive actions. Team Management: Interact directly with company leaders to discuss strategy and the future business of Regal Rexnord. Continuous Improvement: Conduct a continuous improvement (Kaizen) event by participating in a quality improvement project, analyzing data, and identifying opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, customer service, and supply chain, to support quality-related activities and promote a culture of quality throughout the organization. Training and Development: Take advantage of training opportunities to expand knowledge of aerospace quality principles, tools, and methodologies, and apply learnings to enhance future job performance and professional growth.
Internship Job Requirements

• This position requires the applicant to be a US Person with a US permanent residence. A US Person is a US Citizen or Green card holder
• Enrolled in a degree program in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Good writing/administrative skills, including computer skills (word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, Minitab, etc.)
• Previous internships or work experience and/or involvement with student or civic organizations
• Passion for the aerospace industry and interest and enthusiasm for a career with Regal Rexnord
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75
