Position Description:
- Respond to production issues resulting from incoming quality issues.
- Issue Quality Concern (QR) to the responsible supplier.
- Work with the supplier to follow the 8D process
- Achieve containment and get certified parts for production to build with.
- Achieve interim and permanent correct actions.
- Track open issues & communicate to the Quality, Engineering & Production teams.
- Work with Quality, Engineering & Production to solve open quality issues at VO & in the field.
- Set up Quality Operating system and APQP reviews with program new tooled parts suppliers.
- Hold periodic verification reviews with new tooled parts suppliers.
- Potential visit supplier sites for QOS verification and initial part runs.
- Work with MP&L Change Control on incoming part changes.
- Review Birth History on engines with quality issues and report out findings to the team.
- Work with suppliers - Weekly review of open items & G8D's for launch specific parts.
- Review special build engines on the dock and aid in the shipment prep (review, inspections, etc.) to VO (placards, tags, etc.).
- Communicate engine ID and associated shipment information to VO plant.
- Manage/track I4 and V6 Dock Campaigns, dock audits and rework planning to reduce the number of unusable inventory.
- Make sure Campaigned items are grouped, identified and have a work plan associated with them.
- Work extended hours and weekends to support production requirements
Skills Required:
- Quality manufacturing experience preferred

- Strong Written and verbal communication skills

- 6 Sigma Green belt or Black belt
- Knowledge / Experience in use of Quality Operating System and supporting applications: 8D, QR2 system for generating supplier concerns, CMMS, eSRS, QLS-CM, QWX, ECB, BSAQ
Experience Required:
- Quality experience
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
- Knowledge of constraint management principles
- Microsoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook)
Education Required:
- High School Diploma
Education Preferred:
- BS / BA degree

Candidates should be prepared to give specific examples of issues they have had at work/school and the detailed steps of what they have done to find the problem, come up with a solution, and implement it.
