Job Description:
Reporting to the Director of Engineering & Quality, the Quality Engineer will have the responsibility for Manufacturing and Quality processes, Root Cause/Failure analysis, MRB, Process improvements, control plans and work instructions for the site at San Carlos, Ca
Primary duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
· Accountable for internal and customer quality
· Responsible for managing and training quality inspectors.
· Work with production to lead quality improvement efforts.
· Responsible for customer communication in quality-related matters
· In charge of facilitating and holding ISO- internal and external audits.
· In charge of performing quality training and maintaining training records
· Responsible for maintaining Calibration records, production SOPs, Travelers, and PORs.
· Responsible for creating and releasing quality documents.
· Review work instructions and provide training based on Quality alerts from time to time coordinated by the Engineering team.
· Responsible for maintaining quality metrics, including QPPM OTD, RMA logs, customer complaint logs, Scrap, Yield, and SPC as required.
· Responsible for facilitating and conducting FAs.
· Ensures corrective actions are implemented, and the implementation is effective.
· Accountable for the site and VI team communication as the “single point of contact.”
· Responsible for managing the VI quoting process for the facility (provide or facilitate quotes).
Accountable for the movement and completion of VI development parts through the facility
Travel to suppliers or other NxEdge facility to assist in resolving quality issues or assessment of capabilities as required
Job Requirements:
- BS degree in Chemical Engineering or other related field
- ASQ or other related quality certification - Preferred
- Six Sigma green-belt Certification
- Customer and Quality focused with exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to manage multiple projects / assignments simultaneously.
- Solid understanding of Engineering (Industrial and Mechanical), principles with ability read and interpret drawings including dimensional and electrical tolerances.
- Ability to analyze, challenge, and change process, as needed, to create a more efficient, more positive environment and culture
- Proven ability to recognize opportunities and to improve quality
- Able to work on very tight timelines while maintaining excellent attention to detail
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
