Position Description:
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer (QE) will work closely with Operations and Engineering in creating a quality product for our customers. This role will take care of supplier, production or customer issues. The QE will conduct PPAPs and APQPs, answer any corrective actions, maintaining our customer portals, and following up on items. In addition, the QE will review non-conformance trends and make corrective actions as necessary.
This is a fully onsite position at our Joplin, MO plant, working Monday thru Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitating implementation and auditing ISO 9000, ISO/IATF-16949, quality system requirements
• AIAG core tools: FMEA, APQP, MSA, QSA
• Quality tools: Pareto, cause and effect, flow charts, control charts, check sheets, scatter diagrams, histograms
• Basic working knowledge in statistical methods: SPC, process capability indexes
• Metrology
• Utilize basic problem-solving tools: 8D, PDCA, Six Sigma, DMAIC, etc.
• Control Plan development
• Lean and continuous improvement methodologies

Required Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of quality, engineering, or operations experience
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Preferred experience working in the automotive industry
• Solid skillset in project management, communication, and problem-solving
• Self-motivated and driven to obtain results
• Continuous-improvement mindset

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline

Travel:

• Less than 5% travel required for training purposes, or supplier/customer visits
