Quality Coordinator

Position Summary

Reporting to the Shell Rock Plant Manager, the Lab Quality Coordinator is a key contributor to Zinpro’s success by ensuring quality product through sample analysis and quality control. Success in this position requires the ability to manage processes, documentation, and the ability to troubleshoot.

Essential Functions

• Performs lab analysis on finished products, raw materials and in process products, and processes fluids.
• Ensure laboratory follows Good Laboratory Practice (GLPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Documents all lab analysis performed and ensures needed lab documents and testing records are up to date, organized, and available.
• Trains Plant Operators in lab techniques.
• Enters all lab results in databases and records.
• Performs Quality Control approval on products tested.
• Investigating quality issues with Plant Operators.
• Prepares and communicates sample findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.
• Responsible for process documentation and audit compliance
• Lead Quality Control program to ensure sampling processes and product are accurate.
• Performs required housekeeping to maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Work in accordance with required safety procedures, standards, and other requirements.

• Implements or observes the requirements of the following Quality Management System to ensure conformance to the required ISO 9000:2000, FCI RUP, HACCP, AFIA Safe Feed/Safe Food and FAMI-QS standards.

Qualifications

Preferred:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a laboratory environment.
• 1-year supervisory experience.
• Chemistry knowledge.
• Aptitude for lab analysis.
• Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
• Tactful and courteous maintains good working relationship with coworkers.

• The employee is frequently exposed to heights, confined spaces, and hot and cold conditions.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb or crawl.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Schedule Requirements

The Lab Quality Coordinator is a first shift position and expected to work a 40-hour work week including occasional overtime.

Travel Requirements

This position will work primarily at their home manufacturing plant facility and may engage in occasional company-sponsored travel.
