Form of workThe Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking a Quality Assurance Coordinator to join the team at the State Training School (STS) in Eldora, which provides supportive counseling and behavioral health treatment for young men, ages 12-18, who were adjudicated delinquent. This is a full-time position with an 8 a.m.-5 p.m. schedule and nights and weekends as needed. Periodic remote work is possible, and the position offers opportunity for advancement, growth, and development.
This position oversees the maintenance and continued improvement of services and operations of STS through the development, implementation, and monitoring of the HHS Quality Assurance program, and the provision of leadership and technical assistance to staff in support of Quality Assurance (QA) efforts. The QA Coordinator manages a broad range of related projects and helps ensure participation and compliance. This position plans and coordinates performance management and review of facility operations for compliance with Performance-based Standards guidelines, HHS policies, and state and federal regulations. The QA Coordinator remains aware of changes in standards and regulations and guides facility policy to adhere to those changes, trains staff on policy, practice, and expectations, and participates in facility audits. This position coordinates routine compliance reviews for critical parts of the facility operation such as room confinement, security restraint, and behavior management, incorporating data collection, interpretation, and presentation. In service of staff and students at STS, the QA Coordinator collaborates with department heads to review, revise, and publish facility policies, supports and backs up other leadership staff as needed, and works with HHS Central Office staff for reviews and plans of correction. This staff member should have knowledge of QA techniques and principles, survey design, and data collection along with the ability to evaluate complex work processes, analyze data trends, provide recommendations, and work with diverse types of individuals and opinions.
