Position Information: The Quality Control/Production Flex job is responsible for technical aspects of quality assurance including but not limited to solving technical problems with process, machines, equipment, and procedures, along with developing recommendations for improvements. The employee is accountable for quality and quantity of finished units, subassemblies and accessory parts. This is a 3rd shift position and will flex with other Production jobs. This position reports directly to the Quality Supervisor and must work in coordination with co-workers to be effective. This position is primarily responsible for Quality Control, but as needed, will also assist with the production of quality product by operating different types of machinery to assemble product.

Responsibilities
1. Conducts process inspections as directed by QA manager
- Utilize product knowledge and inspection equipment to verify conformance to customer requirements
- Document and communicate results
2. Identifies and implements improvements for potential PPM opportunities
- Participates in kaizen events and other process improvement activities
3. Assists with Receiving Inspection
- Conducting inspections of purchased incoming material using inspection equipment
- Interpret and record data
4. Assists with maintaining and updating gages
- Assists with IATF-16949 Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)
- Assists with Gage R&R studies
- Assists with maintaining gage calibration
5. Conducts internal quality audits
- Conducts IATF-16949 internal audits of all QMS processes at Oconee location
- Conducts ISO 14001 internal audits of all EMS processes at Oconee location
6. Assists with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
- Review customer specific PPAP requirements
- Collecting and organizing measurement data and other documentation to support customer PPAP requirements
7. Assists with 8D Process and CRM
- Enter and edit cases within CRM
- Enter information within 8D Prism Portal
8. Assists with APQP process
- Assists with the inception and maintenance of Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan for all Oconee processes.
9. Assists with inception and maintenance of work instructions for all Oconee processes
10. Assists with root cause analysis of non-conforming product
- Analyze internal failures to determine cause and suggest improvements that will prevent recurrence
- Assist with analyzing customer returns to determine cause and suggest improvements that will prevent recurrence
- Document and communicate results
- Assists with collecting data for machine capability studies
11. Work with suppliers and customers to support manufacturing processes and improvements
12. Other special duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications for Quality Control/Production Flex:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Be able to work well in a group and individually. Possess some degree of mechanical aptitude. One year of experience working in a manufacturing environment or with quality control is preferred, but not required.
Must have legal authorization to work in the United States. Relocation allowance may be provided if the individual has all of the necessary qualifications.
