Description:
- Analyze raw material, in-process, and finished product samples according to established SOP's including GC and GCMS.
- Retrieval use and filing of valid Quality Control retains as references.
- Participate in, and lead daily Flavor sensory evaluation panels per established SOP's.
- Prepare micro samples for shipment per established SOP's for 3rd party testing.
- Follows all Lab and Site safety and GMP rules.
- Maintains work area in a neat and organized manner and completes all paperwork correctly.
- Create, update and write procedures, both testing and QC policies analysis.
- Further educate oneself through courses, seminars, trade journals, and conversation with more experienced technical personnel.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required preferably within the following disciplines (Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Food Science, Food Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry).
- Proven track record of providing practical analytical solutions to manufacturing related issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills in order to liaison with Creative staff, and R&D on production related issues.
- Experience with GC, GCMS is preferred, with Flavors and/or Fragrance experience.
- Technically proficient in the following standard chemical procedures and physical measurements (wet chemistry): GC, GCMS, FTIR, HPLC,NMR, pH, acid value, peroxide value, oil content, water content, specific gravity, refractive index, Tg, optical rotation, salt content, solid content, color, ester value and other standard tests.
- Proficiency with MS Office: Word, Excel and standard MS office software.
- LIMS and/or SAP experience preferred.

Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
