Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: The Quality Technician is responsible for assisting with inspection and problem solving throughout the manufacturing process. The Technician is also responsible for maintaining the calibration system for all gauging at the PreMedTec facility. Support quality, engineering, and manufacturing as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of the position):

•Perform production inspection as necessary and/or designated by the Quality Manager
•Identify process problems and assist in root cause analysis to prevent the nonconforming product from moving through the process. (communicate with ME/QE)
•Perform Production Approvals when needed
•Perform roving audits of manufacturing processes as directed.
•Perform training with inspectors and/or operators in measurement technique(s) and inspection functions along with completing training records.
•Prepare First Article Layouts requested internally and/or by the customer and obtain internal required approvals.
•CMM programming support when required.
•Assist with the dispositioning of the nonconforming products when needed. (work with QE)
•Assist in creating Quality Criteria (work with QE)
•Maintain the calibration function for all internal and customer gauging:
Ensure all gauging being used internally are been calibrated in a timely fashion and is up to date.
Maintain all customer gauging within the Calibration system
Ensure all customer gauging is being returned before “Due Date”
Maintain (Software, spreadsheets, gauging, history files, etc)
Communicate gauging availability with QE / ME
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
•High School Diploma or Equivalent
•4 Years of Inspection Experience (Medical preferred)
•Experience in Metrology
•Experience in Layout Techniques
•Computer knowledge: MS Word; MS Excel, Gage Calibration Software, etc
NONESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS (not necessary but preferred):
•Certified Mechanical Inspection (CMI – ASQ)
•Certified Metrology Technician (CQT – ASQ)

•Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment.
•Eyesight and hearing must be correctable to a standard level.
•Regularly required to sit for extended periods; frequently required to stand, walk and use business equipment daily such as P.C., copier, fax, telephone, etc.; occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 40 lbs.
Shift Schedule
The FIRST shift schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Some Saturday hours may be available.
Overtime is occasionally available with manager permission.
The workday is 8 hours with a break before and after the unpaid half-hour mid-shift meal break
