Quality Control Team Member

Lee Enterprises Design Center is looking for a highly motivated full-time candidate to join our Quality Control team. Candidates will receive tailored training to ensure successful performance in all print production areas.  Candidates will work in a fast-paced environment assisting in several production tasks with an emphasis on meeting tight deadlines. A primary responsibility is to maintain steady page flow and deliver files to press on time using our approval system. This self-starter must have excellent communication skills to showcase on a daily basis across multiple teams. A sharp eye for detail and ability to follow instruction from supervisors and newsroom partners are essential. Candidates must be willing to work flexible hours which may include night/weekend hours. Experience using Adobe graphic design software or equivalent is strongly preferred. Advancement opportunities available. 

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Communication

• Page Processing System
  • Monitor and review all incoming pages from the queues
  • Fix issues if found during review process or contact some who can help
  • Approve pages in a timely manner
• Paginate other type of pages
  • Send retail full advertisement pages to press
  • Place downloaded content on pages
  • Place pre-designed shared content onto pages
• Corrections and Reviews
  • Help make corrections to editorial content before sending for final review
  • Review proofs before sending pages to press
• Provide deadline assistance to teammates as needed
• Provide detailed nightly shift notes
• Thorough understanding of all tasks, processes, procedures, software, and deadlines
• Learn and effectively follow all Design Center policies
• Perform all other duties as assigned
