Quality Control Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY: Supervises QC NDT Technicians, Inspectors, Senior Inspectors & Specialists to ensure that Engineering and manufacturer's OEM NDT & Inspection requirements, as represented by drawings, documentation and specifications, for acceptance, installation, maintenance, operation, revision, and repair are completed properly. Supervises the timely completion of inspection reports and relevant documentation; facilitates support for problem resolution and Engineering Disposition of non-conformances found. Audits the CMMS requirements for cycle program performance, and completion.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervises inspection and NDT efforts for the attractions, Central shops, and receiving. Assists the attractions group and Engineering in inspecting, qualifying, and approving emergency recovery due to unforeseen occurrences at the attractions. Ensures conformity of parts received with latest revision of Manufacturer's and/or Engineering's Drawings and Directives.
• Assures optimal use of Maximo CMMS system for reporting and tracking of Quality Control tasks, Inspection reports, Engineering dispositions, and final acceptance. Supervises the completion of CMMS tasks defined within Maximo. Reviews and updates QC documentation and procedures. Involved in the continuous audit of all QC Job Plans and PM's.
• Supervises staffing requirements for the assigned department including training, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and recognition. Responsible for verifying all department personnel's weekly labor reporting and timecard approval. Responsible for conducting the annual performance reviews of each direct report in the UPerform system. Participates in applicable information sessions, staff meetings, safety meetings and other sessions as required. Coordinates and facilitates inter and intra-department partnerships and external resources including within UO.
• Assists the Senior Manager in maintaining cost controls within the assigned budget and minimize any overtime worked. Works with the attractions, engineering, inspectors, and technicians to identify ways to improve cost-of-ownership in Central Shops and at the attractions.
• Encourages and facilitates feedback to Engineering to facilitate clarification, correction, and/or improvement to Engineering drawings. Performs NDT inspections as required.
• Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

• High school degree or GED required.
• Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in quality assurance/control is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ Years: combination of operation and maintenance of Quality Control required.
• 3+ Years inspection of welds & weldments required.
• 1+ Year Supervisory technical experience required;
• or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• UO In-house NDT certifications in accordance with SNT-TC-1A; VT/MT/PT Level II required
• National Association of Amusement Ride Safety Officials - NAARSO Inspector Certification Level II required
• American Welding Society Certified Weld Inspector (AWS CWI) preferred.
