Gent Machine Company is a 93-year-old family business that specializes in producing custom precise parts utilized by businesses in the automotive, defense, firearms, hydraulics, industrial supply, law enforcement, and other various industries. We are an ISO 9001:2008 & IATF 16949:2016 certified contract manufacturer of machine parts.
We are searching for experienced, dependable and safety conscious full-time Quality Inspector for first (6am-2pm) or Second Shift (2pm-10pm).

What Will You Be Doing?
The inspector will spend about 60% of shift inspecting product, 30% sorting product and 10% tending to a vision system. Inspector will need to be proficient using micrometers and calipers in order to measure and inspect parts.
- Inspect, test, or measure materials, products or work for conformance to specifications.
- Perform first article/ISIR dimensional inspection layouts.
- Ability to understand and create/complete PPAP documentation
- Support and complete SPC inspection and dimensional layout requirements.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of all computer applications, measurement equipment (CMM, Comparator, etc.) in the quality room and on the shop floor.
- Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as comparators, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
- Mark items with details such as grade or pass-fail status.
- Sort any bad product found for the defective dimension.
- Notify supervisors, owners or workers of production problems.
- Advise others on ways to improve processes or products.
- Compute defect percentages or averages, using formulas and calculators.
- Recommend necessary corrective actions, based on inspection results.
- Conduct the first part(s) of inspection.

- The ability to complete PPAP documents
- The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
- The ability to utilize effective time management skills.
- The ability to work independently and/or with others.
Physical Demands:
- The ability to lift up to 35lbs
- The ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- The ability to walk or stand on oily surfaces.
- The ability to climb stairs, to kneel, bend, reach and/or crouch to retrieve equipment and other items.
**Please be aware that our shop is an oily environment so you must not be afraid to get dirty. You will also be required to keep your area clean which includes mopping the floor whenever needed. It is imperative that the candidate not feel any task is too small for them.
