We are searching for a candidate who tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. This QC position is for a qualified candidate with experience in manufacturing and fabrication of steel and aluminum. Knowledge of machining processes and sheet metal forming is required. Candidate should be able to understand and interpret blueprint drawings. Candidate should understand how to use calipers, height gages, indicators, mics, threads gages, etc. to measure and determine a part meets the drawing requirements.
Duties:
· Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
· Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.
· Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
· Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
· Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
· Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristic.
· Other duties as deemed necessary by management
· Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
· First Article reports, Nonconformance Reports, In Process and Final Inspection
· Calibration of In-House Gages and equipment which are not Master Gages.
Skills:
· High level attention to detail to identify flaws in products.
· Demonstrated ability to think critically and provide analysis to solve problems.
· Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, meet time sensitive deadlines and organize workload with general supervision.
· General math and computer proficiency.
· Must be able to work efficiently and effectively to achieve daily goals.
· Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
· Excellent English written and verbal communication skills with ability to collaborate with multiple departments to resolve issues.
· Experience in an ISO9001 or similar work environment.
· Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programing skills.
· Solid understanding of calibration systems.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
· Solid understanding of quality systems inspection and testing processes.
