Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Technicianreports to the Laboratory Manager and serves as the company’s quality liaison for customers, accreditation agencies, and certification bodies. The Quality Assurance Technician, Laboratory Manager, and CorporateQuality Assurance Manager are responsible for implementing and enforcing QA & QC procedures for the Clark Testing laboratory in Dupo, IL. In addition, the Quality Assurance Technician will have responsibilities as designated by the Laboratory Manager to support other work within the laboratory.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Interpret and implement requisite Quality Assurance standards in accordance with company’s Quality Assurance manual.
- Write and revise quality procedures/work instructions with assistance from technical personnel, as necessary.
- Assist with ensuring that the various system of checks required by the QA System are conducted in accordance with the specified schedule.
- Responsible for keeping current on QA regulations/industry standards and informing personnel of revisions.
- Assist with monitoring of quality deviations and prepare corrective action reports for the Laboratory Management Team.
- Support internal and external audits of quality program and operating procedures.
- Coordinate proficiency reports.
- Support the Laboratory Manager and laboratory staff with analytical testing and processing workflow.
Qualifications & Competency Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor of Science Degree (A.S. or B.S.) in Quality, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
- Practical, firsthand experience in a QA/QC management role is preferred.
- Experience with ISO/IEC 17025 preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Customer focused with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be committed to setting an example for exceptional organizational skills and safety.
- Must be able to travel to supplier sites, quality-related meetings, and training.
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary.
- Willing and able to work overtime and off shift hours when needed.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass drug screening and background checks.
This is a Non-Exempt position that offers a competitive hourly rate and benefits package.
