PrideNow is currently looking for a Quality Assurance Technician in the food manufacturing/distribution industry who is passionate about creating value, building partnerships, finding innovative solutions and who has a “get it done right” attitude.
Job Summary: This position is will require working in the lab, warehouse and production areas. Specific obligations are required for each location but all QA technicians are required to work together and be fully competent in all tasks regardless of the work assignment.
Job Duties:
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Must back-up all other QA technicians during lunches, breaks, when they are absent and when they are on vacation or out of work
- Checks email several times daily
- Perform analytical testing on all sample retains and document in appropriate logs/forms
- Scale and equipment calibrations
- Perform production checks such as weights, Metal Detector/X-ray/In-line Magnet checks, tare weights, seals, labels, etc
- Monitor processes and procedures including but not limited to sanitation, preventative & corrective measures, processing & packaging areas
- Raw and finished good pallet verification and validation
- Gather samples as needed for micros, customer samples and/or analytical testing
- Monitor GMP’s
- Conducts cleaning inspections, document findings and follow-ups
- Use of ATP and Allergen Protein Swabs
- Document and monitor knife and utensil control program
- Keeps lab clean and organized
- Notifies manager of supplies needed at least 10 days prior to running out
- Helps to review/verify records and file records
- Notifies Operations Management and/or appropriate person/s Operations Management if there is a risk to food safety or product quality
- Has the ability and authority to “stop the line” if there is an immediate food safety or quality risk
- All other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of an Associates College degree
- Minimum of 2 years QA experience, Food manufacturing environment a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Great Plains experience a plus.
