The Position

Alene Candles is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician for 1st Shift. This is a temp-to-perm position.

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for reviewing, investigating, and validating incoming raw materials, components, and standards. They also process various samples for burn testing and fulfill customer requirements. In addition, they may assist in daily QA activities and provide warehouse assistance as needed. This position covers all the responsibilities of a QA Inspector and QA Incoming Inspection Tech.

Rate of Pay
The QA Technician position pays $18.00/hour.

The Hours

This position works First shift, Monday-Thursday. During our busy season, we anticipate there being opportunity for overtime available. During that time, we may work 1-2 extra days a month depending on customer demand. Busy season is typically August-December but is subject to change based on production needs.

The Location
We are located at 51 Scarborough Lane, Milford, NH. This position is onsite.

Who We Are Looking For

As a QA Technician, you will be responsible for collecting samples from the production line, testing them, monitoring the results, and logging them accurately to ensure compliance with our safety policies. Additional Job Details

  • Offer dependable assistance to the supervisor in maintaining the quality of candles and home fragrance products.
  • Monitors and helps verify corrective and preventive actions are effective and sustainable while maintaining product quality.
  • Evaluate and ensure that efficiency standards are met, consistently striving to achieve performance targets.
  • Track, report, analyze root causes, and provide support in implementing corrective actions to improve efficiency, as instructed by the supervisor.
  • Take full responsibility for the BME & EU testing process, which includes logging samples, printing testing forms, and ID barcodes.
  • Prepare samples according to customer requirements and coordinate distribution to various testing facilities, ensuring effective communication with customer representatives.
  • Establish and enforce a safe work environment by effectively communicating safety requirements, conducting audits, and providing feedback and corrective measures to employees and management.
  • Collect data, maintain metrics, monitor trends, and provide regular reports to supervision on the overall health and well-being of manufacturing operations.
  • Conduct audits of processes, assembly lines, and procedures to identify opportunities for improving production efficiency.
  • Provide additional support as necessary and act as backup for senior technicians and supervisors.
  • Take ownership of the work-in-progress (WIP) and quarantine storage at the site location, ensuring proper maintenance, coordination of sorting, melting, and reworking activities, and collaborating with scheduling to promptly dispose of any unusable goods.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years as a quality inspector or similar position in a manufacturing environment in which the individual was required to monitor and report on quality attributes of some product and/or process.
  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical processes, professional journals, manufacturing procedures, safety and governmental regulations is desired.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures is desired.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients or customers is a must.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatical form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
