As a Quality Assurance Technician, your main role is to ensure the successful production of processing and protective films, as well as technical tapes/papers, that meet quality standards and satisfy customers. You excel in attention to detail, continuous improvement, and conducting inspections, tests, and audits to identify issues. You thrive on problem-solving and critical thinking in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Snapshot of the Quality Assurance Technician Role …
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of inspections, tests, and audits. Generating reports to communicate findings and recommending corrective actions.
- Defect Analysis: Identify and analyze defects, non-conformities, or deviations from quality standards. Collaborating with relevant teams to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Compliance & Regulations: Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, standards, and quality management systems (such as ISO 9001).
- Equipment Calibration: Calibrate and maintain testing equipment and tools to ensure the accuracy and reliability of measurements.
- Training & Support: Providing guidance and training to production or operational staff on quality procedures, standards, and best practices.
- Audits: Conduct internal and external audits to assess compliance with quality standards, procedures, and regulations.
The Ideal Background for the Quality Assurance Technician
KNOWLEDGE: A minimum of (1) year of Quality Assurance/Control and/or manufacturing experience, with a high school diploma/equivalent.
SKILLS:
- Ability to read and understand production specifications and work orders.
- Ability to neatly and accurately record required data.
- Analytical abilities to facilitate rapid problem resolution in a team environment.
- Ensure we maintain a professional, safe, productive, and compliant work environment.
- Maintain and properly store shop tools and equipment with good housekeeping.
ABILITY:
- Basic Math: Understanding and application of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Including fractions and decimals.
- Communication: Effective communication is crucial. You will need to communicate and collaborate with colleagues working different shifts, ensuring smooth handovers and sharing relevant information.
- Flexibility & Adaptability: The ability to maintain regular attendance is critical. The ability to adapt to varying shift lengths and workdays (8 - 12-hour shifts and occasional weekends).
- Stamina: Often involves extended periods of activity and concentration. Physical - lots of time on the production floor - not a desk job!
- Time Management: Effective time management skills to stay focused, prioritize tasks, and maintain productivity throughout the entire shift.
Work Environment …
- Constant standing, walking, repetitive motions, and eye/hand/foot coordination.
