Job Title: Quality Assurance Tech I
Location: Westborough,MA
Duration: 11 Months

Job Description:
  • We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) for a contract position.
  • The ideal candidate has great communication skills, can remove roadblocks, detail oriented, and has a knack for breaking websites. QAE's regularly work with Developers, Product Managers and other Quality Engineers to ensure the proper operation of the production environment.
  • During the development cycle, QAEs identify use cases, create test cases, execute tests, and report results.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Read and understand electrical schematics
  • Ability to fabricate fixturing and perform board re-works, based on schematics
  • Board-level soldering experience
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience 0-2 years industry experience testing hardware, including PCBAs.
  • Experience using standard electrical test/laboratory equipment
  • Oscilloscopes
  • Data acquisition devices
  • Digital multi-meters
  • Signal generators
  • Spectrum analysers
  • Understand and execute documented test procedures
  • Collect test data, document test artifacts and conditions
  • Troubleshoot electronic devices under test
  • Clear written and verbal communication for Test Engineers and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency working in a Linux/Unix environment is a plus.
  • Experience with QA process and Hardware Development Life Cycle.
  • Start date flexible mid to late December or early January
Story Behind the Need Business Group & Key Projects
Business Group:
  • Hardware verification team with robotics.
  • Team is first to handle any new product releases.
  • Ensure functionality via mechanical testing, electrical testing, verify functionality and safety.
  • Critical responsibility is to obtain safety certification.
  • Will be working with team of Sr. Engineers.
Reason for Request:
  • Need additional hands-on resource to augment team's ability to execute required testing, assemble fixtures, root cause failures
Typical Day in the Role
Daily Schedule:
  • Normal business hours 8am-5pm
  • Candidate will be mostly working independently, checking in with lead engineers.
  • Works with direction and guidance.
  • Juggling multiple tasks, may be spread across a handful of programs

Candidate Requirements
Years of experience:
  • 0-2 yrs experience
Required:
  • Experience using standard electrical test/laboratory equipment
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Quick learner, task execution, coachable, ownership
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, willing to accept candidate at technician level with industry experience with an Associate's
Degree or Certification:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or 0-2 years industry experience
KPI:
  • Ability to keep pace, execute tasks in timely manner, handing off projects, accuracy, asking for help if needed, communication
