Job description


The Information Technology Division (ITD) of the State Court Administrator's Office (SCAO) is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to manage our internal team of skilled testers. The QA team plays a critical role in delivering high-functioning software solutions both internally and to the public-facing users of Minnesota.The following are examples of major job duties expected for this position to perform.
  • Establish and implement Quality Assurance standards for IT platforms.
  • Monitor testing efforts and identify gaps in testing.
  • Oversee the QA team members, including project assignment scheduling, staff forecasting, performance evaluations and assigning day to day work.
  • Lead Digital Accessibility efforts for testing and ensure compliance to Minnesota Judicial Branch policies and internal standards.
  • Train employees on Quality Assurance procedures.
  • Generate reports and documentation as needed.
Below are the past experiences that will enable success in the role. For education requirements listed, the equivalent number of years of related experience may serve as a substitute.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in computer sciences or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the field of information technology related to Quality Assurance, including supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years as a QA lead or in a supervisory role.
  • 5+ years hands-on testing.
  • Experience with managing vendor-built QA projects, or hands on experience testing vendor software. Knowledge of Tyler technologies a plus.
  • Experience with Digital Accessibility (DA) regulations and compliance, specifically WCAG standards.
  • Knowledge of Leapwork or similar testing automation software.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to lead projects, recommend testing design methodologies and ability to execute project plans.
  • Deep knowledge of testing methodologies.
  • Understanding of testing automation software or experience with automation.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into test plans.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Leadership and training skills.
Salary
The expected starting salary range for external candidates is $43.65-$55.66 per hour ($91,141 - $116,218 annually). The full salary range for this position is $43.65-$67.67 per hour ($91,141 - $141,295 annually). This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for State of MN employee benefits.

This full-time position is classified as Information Technology Supervisor II. Work will be performed Monday-Friday, in a hybrid environment, with core business hours of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. On-site work at the Minnesota Judicial Center in St. Paul, Minnesota, and other court locations across the state may be occasionally required.
