The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Quality Assurance in all of the production areas. The Supervisor is responsible for maintaining/exceeding productivity and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of direct reports.
- Inspect the inflow and outflow of product on a daily basis.
- Control manpower and overtime in the department.
- Enforce standard operating procedures, company policies and safety regulations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve potential problems/issues within the departments.
- All products quality standards are met.
- Keep all records current and updated properly.
- Assist all your people as needed. Also make sure personnel stay busy all day.
- Develop and publish Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all department tasks and keep updated as needed.
- Conduct personnel performance reviews, coaching and disciplinary activities for assigned personnel.
- Make sure all employees are trained properly.
- Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.
- Train all new and current employees on SOPs and job descriptions.
- Maintain production schedules making sure they are accurate and updated.
- In the event of emergency or evacuation of the building fire alarm systems, ensure all personnel in your area safely exit the building.
- Keep everything clean and organized.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) as required for the position.
- Perform other duties as needed or requested.
Education & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in a quality control environment and with supervisory experience.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to be proactive and take initiative to improve processes within the departments.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- Experience in SAP a plus.
- Experience using computerized manufacturing and inventory systems a plus.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong computer skills a must.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook).
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per day.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, grasp, bend, kneel, and squat repeatedly throughout the day.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 25 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
