The Quality Assurance Specialist is the central person and thus the expert for quality topics in Manufacturing as well as the first point of contact for the Quality Assurance laborers on the shop floor and for interface partners. This position plays a key role in quality planning and Quality Assurance in assigned area of responsibility. The Quality Assurance Specialist's goal is to ensure compliance with quality requirements as well as relevant standards and guidelines. Another focus of this position is to handle deviations and complaints. The Quality Assurance Specialist initiates process blocks and escalates deviations along the escalation model as well as supports the development of sustainable corrective actions and check their effectiveness. Other responsibilities include coordinating audit execution in Manufacturing in addition to performing Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). The implementation and optimization of methods and tools complete this position's duties. The Quality Assurance Specialist reports to the Quality Assurance Team Leader.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Acts as the first point of contact and is the central person for quality deviations in the department for employees, managers and, if necessary, for interfaces
- Manages and monitors the quality controls as well as audits in the respective segments.
- Assists in defining inspection characteristics and sampling in coordination with Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering.
- Ensures the monitoring of compliance with relevant specifications in the manufacturing processes and has knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines, as well as requirements from the product development process (NPI) and the product change process (PCP).
- Deals with the management, coordination, and processing of nonconformance cases and complaints, as well as participates in 8D reports.
- Conducts sustainability checks.
- Provides support for qualitative issues in the context of product or process changes.
- Attends to documentation and monitoring of process changes in addition to initiating action on quality deviations.
- Acts as decision-maker in the escalation of qualitative deviations or in the event of non-compliance with specifications.
- Initiates process locks, escalates deviations along the escalation model, and assists in the development of sustainable corrective actions as well as reviews them for effectiveness.
- Provides support in achieving the targets for the quality indicators in the segment and in escalation in the course of deviations.
- Assumes responsibility for the coordination and execution of product and process audits in the Manufacturing Area.
- Supports the colleagues during audits related to quality relevant topics (ISO 9001, external certification audits, customer audits, ...)
- Collaborates in the execution of process FMEA's as well as in various process and optimization workshops.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Possess a valid Passport or has the ability to obtain and pay for a valid Passport.
- Completed technical education with focus on Quality Assurance, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering
- 2 + years of work experience in Quality Assurance.
- Willing to participate in further training (e.g., internal and external quality training)
- Good technical understanding
- Knowledge in Quality Assurance
- MS Office knowledge
- Pronounced quality awareness.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good understanding of interrelated processes
- Able to make decisions and take actions appropriate to the situation.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Self-confident and open appearance, good communication skills
- Bilingual a plus
