Summary of Position:
The Quality Assurance (QA) Review Specialist reviews all assigned transactions for accuracy and compliance before releasing to requestors. This is a skilled QA Specialist who can work across multiple source systems in order to provide service across multiple or in support of more complex client accounts. This position has the opportunity to work remotely.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Reads, understands, interprets, and analyzes medical records, forms, authorizations that are relevant to the ROI process
- Organizes records and documents
- Sends notifications to requestor when applicable
- Completes internal Quality Assurance Review as directed
- Communicates with company personnel in a professional and friendly manner
- Communicates with Release of Information Specialists and Client Site Managers on special issues
- Attends all required trainings sessions provided by Verisma
- Supports the resolution of compliance issues related to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act ("HIPAA"), in a timely manner
- Works collaboratively with Release of Information (ROI) Specialist and other departments
- Meets accuracy standards and performance indicators established by the Company
- Performs other appropriate duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department and the Company

- Role may include one or more of the following:
- Review of subpoenas and/or court ordered requests for records
- Proficient with QA review across 3 or more client accounts with multiple EHR's.
- Work on review of client accounts that use 3 or more source systems that may include up to 50% scanned images
- Assist in the training of new staff
Minimum Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or equivalent, additional education in Health Information is preferred
- 3+ years' overall work experience in a clerical, admin or data entry role
- 2+ years' of experience with multiple Release of Information (ROI) source systems
- Experience using general office equipment including desktop computer, scanner, etc.
- Must be able to use components of Microsoft Office Suite to complete tasks and possess the ability to learn additional software applications easily
- Experience in a healthcare setting, preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA and state regulations related to the release of Protected Health Information, preferred
- RHIT certification or the ability to take and pass an ROI Certification course is preferred
- Must be able to communicate clearly, concisely and respectfully to relay information to other departments
- Must be able to work independently
- Able to work at a steady pace with a proven track record of detail orientation
