Jacobs has an opportunity for a Quality Assurance Construction Inspector supporting our long term project in Cleveland, OH.
The QA Construction Inspector is responsible for full-time, site-based surveillance and focused inspection of ARCHITECTURAL and MEP work on one or more significant projects. This individual monitors and documents construction work in progress, verifies conformance with construction drawings and specifications, and provides general coordination with various project stakeholders at the field level.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Monitor and document construction activity, equipment and manpower.
- Interpret construction documents, codes and technical submissions to verify conformance with contract and regulatory requirements.
- Verify conformance of materials and equipment with approved shop drawings/submittals.
- Coordinate construction interfaces with security and building operations daily.
- Assist the PM in the documentation and resolution of field issues.
- Maintain awareness of clarifications and changes affecting work in progress.
- Coordinate and oversee specialized testing and inspections.
- Prepare daily construction reports and maintain accurate records of tests and inspections.
- Monitor work performance and document variations from established schedules.
- Assist in the evaluation of change order proposals.
- Evaluate contractor payment requisitions.
- Monitor contractor work practices for conformance with site safety requirements.

- 10 years building construction experience with emphasis on Quality Assurance/Quality Control with oversight responsibility for MEP and ARCHITECTURAL in lieu of relevant Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- Supervisory and/or journeyman experience in the construction trades will be considered.
- Experience monitoring installations and enforcing safety best practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, building personnel, contractors, and consultants.
- Basic computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- US Citizenship and ability to obtain HSPD-12 Security.
Ideally, you'll have:
- Federal GSA Contract experience with active HSPD-12 Clearance.
- Experience with interior renovations within occupied building including demo/abatement with typical office space build-out.
- 4 years building construction experience with emphasis on Quality Assurance/Quality Control with oversight responsibility for MEP and ARCHITECTURAL with relevant Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
