Description

The major accountability of this position involves being a key member of the engineering team ensuring Quality Assurance of software, firmware and hardware deliverables within release schedules through the writing of test cases, test plans, and reporting tools. Execution of tests to detect defects and problems is ultimately the goal for this position.

This position will work directly with product owners to understand product concept, release goals and critical user flows. Responsibility includes prompt communication of defects and problems, project status, as well as concerns and issues to scrum team and manager.

• Assist in test planning and estimations.
• In-house, hands-on testing with test-lab equipment. (some remote work is possible)
• Reproduce and clearly document all issues found during verification and validation.
• Clearly document validation results.
• Create and review test plans and test cases.
• Maintain and review the defect backlog and assist in prioritization of efforts.
• Conduct root-cause analysis for critical defects released to our customers or as needed to improve processes.
• Participate in the Triage process, reproduce field issues and provide feedback.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or equivalent direct work experience.
• Comfortable working with hardware test systems.
• Prefer rudimentary, or better, understanding of electronics. Ability to confidently and safely exchange and wire circuit boards.
• Some development experience, particularly with writing automated tests, is a plus.
• Some knowledge of testing methodologies.
• Basic understanding of technical terminology and Quality Assurance “Best Practices”.
• Strong research, troubleshooting and documentation skills.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Must have an innovative outlook and a desire to seek new and more effective ways of testing.
• Ability to work and produce consistent results independently and in group settings.
