Job Summary
Plans and directs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Liaison with Customers and suppliers to ensure quality expectations are clearly defined and implemented.
- Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation including revision to the QA Lab manual describing these activities.
- Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of Inspection Measuring and Test Equipment (IMTE) and analytical related equipment and facilities.
- Maintains customer required documentation related to APQP and PPAP activities on all new projects.
- Ensure Quality System is maintained, and plant(s) adhere to customer requirements.
- Review and approve supplier PPAP.
- Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
- Review customer websites daily for updates.
- Controls document and data requirements under the IATF16949 management system.
- Submit countermeasure responses to customer.
- Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
- Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in root cause analysis and verify effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.
- Support Production Coordinator to maintain and update PFC, PFMEAs, MQCs and PQCTs.
- Responsible for maintaining IATF-16949 regulatory requirements.
Job Qualifications
Education
Two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
ASQ CQT, CQA, CQE an asset
Computer Skills
Internet software, Payroll systems, Project Management software, Spreadsheet soft Excel, Word

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to communicate both verbally and written in English.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Abilities
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
