The role you’ll contribute:
Provides non physician patient record review against established criteria.Quantifies findings and authors reports for established committees.May participate in focused studies, data collection and analysis.Will actively collaborate with the nursing and medical staff to resolve issues when identified.Performs regulatory agency data abstraction using concurrent methods and also performs retrospective data abstraction necessary to submit the required data within the defined timeframe.Concurrent methods include daily monitoring of census and Cerner application tools to proactively identify patients that may meet criteria for inclusion in core measure data sampling; entering the patient into a data tracking tool to abstract compliance during the hospitalization; completing written and verbal alerts to be communicated to clinical staff for intervention to avoid measure fallouts and actively engaging clinical and medical staff interactively in the clinical setting.Collaborates with colleagues to complete interrater reliability validation, when applicable.

- Analyzes data for trends and patterns.
- Abstracts regulatory agency required data using concurrent data abstraction methods and intervenes with clinical staff to meet compliance requirements. Follows chain of command should barriers to resolution be encountered and maintains reports to summarize key issues as a resource for performance improvement initiatives.
- Abstracts regulatory agency required data using retrospective methods for patients that are not captured with the concurrent data abstraction methodology.
- Completes reports effectively and efficiently within established timeframes
- Adheres to the timeframes for regulatory agency data submission and alerts Department Director or designee should problems be identified that would impede meeting the established timeframe.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- Associate degree, RN or Medical Degree upon hire
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification upon hire
