Futura Systems, a subsidiary of Meridian Cooperative, provides enterprise utility GIS solutions to hundreds of electric membership cooperatives, electric municipal systems, and other utility providers across the United States. Summary:
Futura Systems Inc. is seeking an experienced Software Quality Assurance Analyst II to join our quality control team. This role requires strong technical and interpersonal skills, and a passion for learning. The ideal candidate would have a strong background in QC along with experience testing software using Apple devices (iPad and iPhone) and would be enthusiastic about helping make quality software.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with lead application developers to help develop application software
- Test the software thoroughly to find any defects, notify developers of possible enhancements to the software, help to test new functionality to the software and completely understand the product(s).
- Develop test cases and test plans to ensure coverage of product software testing.
- Learn new technology as it is required for new functionality in products
- Update and document the help files for the software products. Including new functionality, enhancements and defect fixes.
- Trouble shoot software issues as they arise.
- Automate test cases using Ranorex test case automation software.
Qualifications:
- BS in computer science or related field
- Detailed knowledge of all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Preferably 3-5+ years of experience performing QC in a mobile environment (iPad, iPhone etc)
- Fundamental Knowledge of SQL Server with the ability to generate SQL queries for quality testing.
- Previous experience using Atlassian products: Jira and Confluence.
- Natural aptitude and a strong desire to learn new technologies
- Comfortable working independently and in a team environment
- Strong trouble shooting capability (ability to think outside the box)
- Analytical skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with test case automation software such as Ranorex.
- GIS experience in the utility industry (electric, gas or water)
- GPS experience
