QA ANALYST

JOB PURPOSE
The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for ensuring all ingredients, formulas, and materials comply with ingredient and formula quality standards. This person will also oversee the collection of all raw samples received and used at the Company and confirm that every ingredient will pass analytical and microbial testing by interpreting outside laboratory test results.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead training of all current and new R&D projects with the assigned staff. This would include but not be limited to the following:
- Raw Materials Compliance Testing
- Finished goods Stability Testing
- Manage coordination with third-party labs, including chain of custody request forms, test methods, costs, and types of tests.
- Assures that third party labs have current accreditation, licenses.
- Assist in training staff and delegate the required tasks to ensure completion and accuracy.
· Coordinates with Food Science Formulators in key evaluation procedures of all products and their respective ingredient and materials.
· Coordinate and communicate with QC techs, monitor progress, and assure completion of required sample collection and prepping to ship to third-party labs.
· Obtaining testing results and ensuring required testing methods and reporting criteria are valid and correct.
· Act as primary liaison with contract testing laboratories and their testing capabilities.
· Ensures quality of third-party laboratory process and strict adherence to sound testing principles.
· Annually reviews and updates with contract testing laboratory management for current certifications.
· Participate in scheduled document collection of the 3rd party laboratory documents, such as certifications and results, for onsite audit preparation to ensure compliance.
· Maintain current Company laboratory methods and staff certifications as required to support lab duties.
· Master Manufacturing Record (MMR) packaging sheet review for correct updates and tracking.
· Audit CAPA compliance review for accuracy in compliance with NC’S.
· Ensure that all controlled quality documents related to the Food Safety Program are updated and maintained.
· Ensures that these documents are the latest issue and made available at all locations where operations are essential to the effective functioning of the Quality Management System are performed.
· Submit technical updates of documents for review to the QA/QC Manager.
· Develop and maintain a comprehensive filing system and computer database for all documents to be retained in the document control center.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assists as assigned with the evaluation, approval, or rejection of all procedures, specifications, test methods, and results that impact the purity, quality, and composition of an ingredient or product.
· Assists when needed in performing internal audits that involve batch documentation regarding any ingredients used in manufacturing.
· Assists the QA/QC Manager in approving raw material suppliers, contract manufacturers, and contract laboratories.
· Participates in annual surveillance audits and provides other audit assistance.
· Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time at the management’s discretion.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
· This position has no direct reports but delegates projects, as directed by the QA/QC Manager.
EDUCATION | CERTIFICATIONS | LICENSES
· Associate's degree in a related field and a minimum of three (3) Sales or Distribution experience preferred. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will also be considered.
· Strong data aggregation and management.
· High-level proficiency with data, data analysis, and data management.
· Prior experience with key functional focus areas (MAP, Trade Funds, Pricing etc)
· Functionally proficient in the following areas:
- retail analytics & insights.
- In-store operations
- Retail economics
· Effective written and verbal communication.
COMPUTER SKILLS & ABILITIES
· Strong computer skills, specifically proficient in a Windows-based system using MS Office Suite products, including PowerPoint with advanced Excel skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS | WORK ENVIRONMENT
· The majority of this position is performed in a climate-controlled indoor environment.
· Work may be performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to walk short distances, and/or drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials.

Base Salary: $24 - $26 per hour
General Work Times: Monday through Friday (7:00am-3:30pm). Overtime and/or occasional schedule changes may occur depending on the needs of the business. The company will make every attempt to schedule these changes in advance and appropriately notify the employee.
