Position Details:
Job Title: QC Analyst
Position Type: 1 year contract with additional opportunity contingent upon performance and continued business need
Job Location: La Porte., Tx
Shift: 1st shift
Compensation: $40 per hour
The individual selected will be asked to help maintain laboratory operations at a high level of efficiency & accuracy and assure that QC instruments are in proper working order. They will also be asked to help to troubleshoot QC instrumentation (GC,GCMS,ICP) in accordance with procedures. This is a Monday-Friday position with the possibility overtime.
Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot reliability issues of laboratory equipment and develop practical solutions.
• Assist in classification for final product and compounding lots.
• Help with QC Lab Housekeeping • Help with lab coverage as needed.
• Assistance with special samples testing and documentation.
• Helping QC team with instrumentation and training.
• Assist with QC improvement projects as needed.
• Assist with calibration of QC equipment.
• Understand and comply with departmental Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Help to ensure all QC instruments are maintained in good operating condition.
• Support new Instrument Implementation, validation, and training.

Qualifications:

• The client is looking someone with good Lab instrumentation (GC, GCMS, ICP) troubleshooting experience.
• BSc. plus 2 years of laboratory experience or 5+ years of laboratory experience in lieu of degreed education.
• B.S. in Chemistry and work experience in QC lab focusing on polymers preferred.
• Experience in calibrating and troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation.
• Self-motivated and detail oriented.
• Able to work without direct supervision.
• Experience in troubleshooting instrumentation.
• SAP & LIMS experience preferred.
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize work.
• Strong laboratory skills required including both scientific practices and housekeeping.
