As a Quality Assurance Engineer at Reading Subscriptions, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards. From testing new features to identifying and resolving bugs, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the user experience.
Our preferred candidate possesses a high level of coding aptitude combined with a demonstrated passion for Quality Assurance. We value individuals who are not only technically adept but also thrive in a collaborative and dynamic environment. Our QAEs test code both manually and with automated tools. They are not just black box testers; they understand the software internals, can debug problems using log files, and write automated tests using a variety of frameworks. You will be a key voice in the design and coding phases, contributing to the development of high-quality test automation to drive down operational costs and enable faster deployments.

Key job responsibilities
  • Test Planning and Execution: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for new features and product releases.
  • Bug Identification and Resolution: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, document, and resolve software defects.
  • Automation Scripting: Develop and maintain automated test scripts to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless integration of quality throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in retrospectives and contribute to process improvements to enhance overall product quality.

Seattle, WA, USA
  • Experience with at least one automated test framework like Selenium or Appium
  • Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product quality

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $91,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
