Your Role and Responsibilities
DataPower gateways are used by many of the world's largest companies including banks, airlines and insurance providers. As part of the DataPower gateway software engineering team you will be responsible for ensuring that every version of the product that is released exceeds the high level of quality that our customers demand.You will work closely with the development team to define, execute, and track test plans for new features through the software life cycle, keeping in mind the end-to-end user experience. You will make use of strong technical, problem-solving and communication skills to identify, reproduce, and report product defects.The role seeks good levels of personal organization, and the ability to work well with a distributed global team in a fast paced and exciting environment. You will be office based, working with senior team members who will be able to help you integrate into the team, the department and wider IBM. You will be required to communicate your status on a daily basis, come up with creative solutions to problems and be flexible. Supporting the team where your help is required and to be able to demonstrate a positive attitude and a passion to succeed.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • 6+ years of experience in QA/test teams
  • Experience with Rest API testing
  • Experience Debugging/Troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with network and security protocols (http(s), ssl, ssh, sftp, mq, etc)
  • Experience testing large-scale distributed systems across multiple form factors

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
  • Experience creating/writing test plans
  • Experience with Linux
  • Experience with containerized environments such as Kubernetes and OCP
  • Experience automating test cases

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
