Job Summary:
Baerlocher USA headquartered in Cincinnati, OH is looking for dedicated professional with a passion for ensuring quality. This position will play a key role in identifying and resolving issues related to product quality, ensuring adherence to industry regulations, and continuously improving manufacturing processes.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manages quality assurance for site
- Coordinates the purchase of all laboratories supplies and materials, and arranges for and maintains records of all equipment, as well as repair and/or calibration
- Maintain and update laboratory procedures/operations manual
- Determine the quality of production samples and provide a Certificate of Analysis (Reports to Quality Management Meeting)
- Maintain all logs, standards, tests, and records pertaining to the quality of production samples (Reports to Quality Management Meeting)
- Performs hands on laboratory testing for quality control
- Reporting for Quality Control including Quality Control logs, C of A, and notification of off-specification product
- Maintain SDS for incoming laboratory materials
- Maintain sample log and storeroom
- Trains, develops and manages lab personnel
- Ensures all data, procedures, and records are up-to-date and accurate in SAP QM
- Continuous method development on various equipment under differing circumstances
- Conduct regular method validation studies with team including round-robin testing with other sites
- Understand and report regularly on SQC
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Quality control knowledge including basic statistics.
- Basic ISO audit understanding
- Knowledge of products and manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills along with attention to detail
- Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong problem solving skills
- Understands and adheres to the ISO and Quality Management programs
- Must be willing and able to perform QC testing on a regular basis
- Ability to reallocate resources based on daily testing
Education/Relevant Industry Experience
Minimum:
- Bachelors Degree in chemistry with ten years of Quality Control experience or Masters Degree with five years of Quality Control Experience
- Three years supervisory experience
- Experience with ISO and Quality Systems and Assurance programs
Strongly Desired:
- Bachelors Degree in analytical chemistry
- Hands on use and method development with: HPLC, TGA, FTIR, XRF, DSC, Karl Fischer, colorimeter, particle size analyzer, manual titrations, two roll mill, Mathis oven.
