Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated, meticulous, and dynamic QA and Manufacturing Supervisor to join our lean but growing startup team at Sun Extractions. The successful candidate will merge technical prowess with stringent quality assurance expertise, serving as the linchpin of both production and compliance realms in our fast-paced environment. With your leadership, we aim to not only meet but exceed the rigorous quality and safety standards mandated by the cannabis industry and state regulations. Given that the NJ regulations require the Manufacturing Supervisor to report any quality issues, it was natural to merge these roles in our lean organization.

As a QA and Manufacturing Supervisor, you will champion our commitment to producing top-tier cannabis products, ensuring every item leaving our facility is compliant, of high quality, and safe for consumer use. Your dual focus will consolidate our efforts to streamline processes, enhance product integrity, and uphold our brand's reputation.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and integrate the roles of quality assurance and Manufacturing supervision, ensuring seamless operations across production and compliance.
• Train and supervise all packaging staff
• Refine, implement, and maintain our quality assurance protocols and standards, aligning them with manufacturing processes to guarantee product consistency and regulatory adherence.
• Conduct rigorous quality audits, identify areas for improvement, and lead corrective action plans to mitigate risks and enhance product quality.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for state regulatory bodies, ensuring all manufacturing practices comply with state laws and regulations.
• Coordinate with the extraction team to establish and achieve quality benchmarks, while also maintaining efficient manufacturing schedules and outputs.
• Lead training sessions for production staff on their duties including but not limited to: quality assurance expectations, compliance requirements, and best practices in manufacturing.
• Manage cross-functional initiatives to troubleshoot production and quality issues, fostering a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation.
• Document and report quality metrics and production performance, providing transparent communication to senior management.
• Uphold all NJ regulations for a Manufacturing Supervisor as per NJAC 17:30 – 11.12

Qualifications:

• Must be a minimum of 21 years old, adhering to state law requirements for cannabis processing employment.
• At least two years of experience in a supervisory/leadership role within the cannabis industry
• Extensive knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, including auditing, compliance monitoring, and certification processes relevant to the cannabis industry.
• In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, especially in areas like biomass processing, packaging, and product formulation.
• Proficient in NJ state cannabis regulations, with a particular emphasis on quality and Manufacturing standards.
• Demonstrated experience in leading teams to achieve compliance objectives, enhance process efficiencies, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate production metrics and quality data, driving informed decision-making.
• Excellent command of necessary software tools, including Microsoft Office suite, Google Docs, and experience with Distru ERP or similar platforms.
• Effective organizational, leadership, and communication skills, capable of mentoring teams and liaising with various departments to uphold quality and production standards.
• Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to work in various physical positions, including sitting, standing, and walking.

- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

Additional Requirements:

- Must be at least 21 years old as per state law requirements for working in a cannabis processing center.

• Competitive Salary: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
