LabCorp is seeking a Laboratory Quality Analyst to join our Consumer Genetics team in Burlington NC! The Quality Assurance team provides vital support to the laboratories, senior management as well as our clients, and other LabCorp sites.
LabCorp’s Consumer Genetics operation is one of the world’s largest genotyping facilities, having genotyped millions of samples for SNP (Single Nucleotide Polymorphism) analysis since 2013. SNPs are single base changes in DNA that give rise to genetic variation. LabCorp maintains an extensive program of quality control implemented on all levels of testing and evaluation.
The Quality Analyst will be responsible for supporting projects and activities related to quality assurance, quality improvement, quality training, and other responsibilities of the Quality Assurance department. The Quality Analyst allows the laboratory to provide quality results to our providers and patients, which increases customer satisfaction and solidifies loyalty for our company. This position is also responsible for project management activities as they relate to identified areas within the laboratory requiring standardization to improve the quality and/or efficiency of operations
The schedule for this position will be: 1st shift, Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintaining databases (e.g., tracking activities of the internal audit program, tracking responses for external audits, and keeping information regarding personnel, equipment, and test menu up-to-date);
- Reviewing records for accuracy and completeness;
- Coordinating and tracking results of internal proficiency testing program;
- Tracking timely reporting of proficiency testing (PT) results, maintaining accurate records of PT handling, reporting and follow-up;
- Collecting data and preparing local quality metrics reports as assigned;
- Reviewing any outliers associated with quality metrics reports and assisting with development of corrective action and follow-up processes;
- Working with department and quality managers to ensure new and revised procedures are appropriately implemented and documented;
- Performing quality audits and creating timely audit reports;
- Filing for necessary licensure, certification and/or accreditation as appropriate for the laboratory’s test complexity;
- Working with appropriate individuals to identify trends, solve problems, troubleshoot and modify processes to prevent recurrence of problems;
- Keeping quality director and site quality managers informed of any significant issues affecting overall laboratory quality;
- Performing administrative support duties (e.g., maintaining records, generating and sending communications and reports, entering data, answering phones, filing, etc.); and
- Monitoring and responding to other quality issues as assigned or developed in the course of the other duties as described above.

Requirements:
- BA/BS degree preferred in medical technology, biology, chemistry or related
- 1-2+ years’ experience in: trending and analyzing data, writing SOPs, internal auditing, and CAPA systems; knowledge of applicable federal and state regulatory requirements desired.
- Previous experience with an electronic data management system is a plus (i.e. MasterControl)
- General knowledge of laboratory regulations (CAP/CLIA/ISO) and licensing requirements
- Strong understanding of audit-related requirements and procedures
- Working knowledge of quality assurance/quality management best practices
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Strong computer skills with proficiency with MS Office programs
