Qualifications
•Justice or related field, or BSA experience sufficient to demonstrate strong understanding of BSA concepts
•3+ years of Quality Assurance or BSA/AML investigative experience;
•3-6 years of banking/financial services experience specifically in a compliance role
•Ability to participate in special projects as necessary
•Strong writing, analytical and communication skills with ability to make assessments
supported by strong analyses
•Ability to work independently, without supervision
•Advanced QA/ QC AML investigations and SAR writing experience
Responsibilities
•AML Operations Analyst – SAR Management & Quality Assurance will be responsible for conducting quality assurance for the SAR Management Program and providing SAR writing guidance to investigators within AML Operations
•Experience in writing, reviewing, and filing AML and AML SARs is preferred
•This role will assist the QA Lead with reviewing completed investigations and workflows, identifying gaps and providing recommendations
•As an AFC/AML Compliance QC Analyst for this bank's U.S. operations, you’ll be exposed to and assess a wide variety of risk and compliance issues such as violations of our terms of service and Financial crimes such as fraud and money laundering
•In particular, this role will report to the QC lead
•80 % of the time: Monitor, assess, and document the performance of AFC/AML Investigations staff in following procedures related to suspicious activity monitoring, KYC, SAR, No-SAR decisions
•10 % of the time: Collaborate with the Compliance management team on procedure and process enhancements as well as identifying training opportunities
•10% of the time: Incorporate Internal / external Audit and regulatory recommendations into department processes
•Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations
•Identify red flags and patterns of questionable activity
•Learn and work within Compliance and Risk Operations as needed to replicate and compile appropriate responses, process and metrics
•Assist in the administration of the BSA/AML/OFAC program
•Collaborate with AFC/AML Manager to identify trends, new typologies and anomalies
•Assist in the investigation of internal escalations in addition to completing Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR)
•You will need to be comfortable straddling compliance and technology every day as we continue to enhance our compliance program
•The right person for the role will seek creative solutions and must be able to work in a fast paced environment
•Ability to deliver documentation and reporting of QC results
•Communicate and provide constructive feedback and improvement plans on identified issues both internal and cross-functional
