We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our client as a Purchasing Specialist. You will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials to manufacture products. You will work closely with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely procurement and fulfillment of orders.
Responsibilities
- Identify potential suppliers and conduct thorough evaluations to assess their capabilities and suitability
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand their procurement requirements and develop procurement plans accordingly.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and pricing agreements.
- Monitor market trends and perform regular market analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Place orders with suppliers and ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods and services.
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise during the procurement process.
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities and provide regular reports to management.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of direct experience in global purchasing, sourcing, contract management, developing supply chains, and supply side of new product development/commercialization preferred
- Supplier management, preferably in consumer products within a manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to utilize an integrated ERP system, lean manufacturing concepts
- History of sourcing new suppliers and negotiating contracts
- Training and/or fundamental understanding of quality control, statistical processes
- Ability to multi-task and work independently within a team setting
- Proficient with computer software programs such as, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
