SUMMARY
Lead a team responsible for Master Planning and Material Planning. Responsible for supply chain design, supplier development, and negotiation for procurement of goods and services required for Dedicated Computing products and services. Own overall supplier relationships and balance key factors of supplier quality, life-cycle management, on-time delivery, inventory, cash flow, supply risk, and cost. Collaborate with product development and engineering teams to ensure optimal and strategic component selection in addition to standardization in new product development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Lead a team of Material Planning Analysts and a Master Planner to ensure daily production needs are being met through timely order and receipt of components, demand analysis and supply chain response.
- Develop company purchasing strategy.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and develop team members to support the organization's long-term growth plans.
- Achieve annual organizational objectives through cost reduction, cost avoidance, margin improvement, and risk mitigation.
- Drive improvements to supplier performance including quality, on-time delivery, inventory management, cost, freight terms, and payment terms.
- Own supplier relationships and data exchange including but not limited to Terms & Conditions, master supply agreements, forecasting, lead times, MOQs (minimum order quantity), end of life components.
- Proactively manage inbound freight activity, customs tariffs and duties, VRMA (vendor return material authorization) support, inventory liquidation.
- Support new product development projects in component selection, supplier engagement, procurement, and disposition of development components.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, sales, and executive management to address and resolve key escalations with suppliers.
- Monitor and manage efficient inventory levels tied to purchasing process and activity. Partner with finance to participate as needed in the E&O (excess and obsolete) inventory review.
- Direct the Company’s ABC inventory management process through regular updates and adjustments to purchase cycles and categorization.
- Maintain current, documented procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree and at least 5 years of related experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 3 years of previous management experience.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively at all organizational levels, either internally or within supplier organizations.
- Cross-functional project management, data analysis and problem solving, team management, and the ability to work independently at a high energy level.
- Demonstrated supplier relationship building and excellent negotiation skills.
- Ability to partner with department managers to identify, create, and plan capabilities necessary to meet short and long-term business needs.
- Demonstrate a continuous improvement ethos; ability to identify areas of opportunity and positively influence business decisions.
Preferred:
- Sourcing experience in the Global procurement of electronics components.
- Sourcing experience in a low volume, high mix environment.
- Knowledge of international business transactions, i.e., tariff codes, Incoterms, export license requirements, and intermodal transportation.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, and budgeting.
